Hi everyone,
I would like to go to California College of Arts and Crafts next fall. I decided it would be better for me if I stayed on the west coast instead of going to RISD. I'm going to be majoring in glass. Does Anyone have any thoughts or ideas or advice they'd like to share with me about their experience at CCAC? I've never visited Oakland, is it fun there? Thanks :)

I have a lot of friends in the glass department who really like it there. I think it's one of CCA(C)'s stronger departments. I know there are some amazing teachers that kick your butt, so if you're inna brutally difficult glass-related projects, you'll have a great time ;) hee

Fri, March 25, 2005 - 7:14 PMI think the Oakland campus is really beautiful and would far rather be there than the SF campus. It's just a nice walk to the Mountain View Cemetery, which is one of the coolest places in the Bay Area, IMO. Oakland's got plenty of cool stuff, even though they could sure use more 24 hour restaurants. -

Thu, April 14, 2005 - 9:32 AMHey there
I am an MFA Textiles student,
which means I exist in the SF and OAkland Campuses.
Aside from the constant commuting, I enjoy the diversity created by the two campuses. My studio is in SF, which is close to my house. I'm mostly in contact with the other MFA students there, and the Design/architecture programs almost feel like another school that's happening there at the same time. I TA in Oakland once a week, and have a seminar there. Plus I do all of my dying there. It's a totally different world, trees, sunshine, cute arts and crafts style bungalows, quiet... and lots of undergrad art majors. I rarely see any other grads there...
I think CCA(c) has a lot to offer.
stay bay area, you'll hate the weather on the east coast!
