I am curating a show at the Exploratorium which is scheduled to open on April 25, 2008. This one night event will feature the best of wearable art and wearable computing. The opening is an extravaganza and include performances, a runway, and installations. As a more lasting sculptural adventure, we will be asking artists if they would be willing to contribute works that will hang on clotheslines through out the rafters of the Exploratorium’s cavernous warehouse space for a period of about three months.

If you have something that you would like to contribute to the evening or to the clothesline, please send me some information about it. If you can, give me some indication of what it would cost to get it to San Francisco as well.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have. Also, feel free to send this email on to qualified individuals who you think are doing interesting work in this field.

The New Materials Resource Center (formerly the materials library) is an interdisiplinary collection of over 1800 courious, hi-tech, eco-concious, and innovative materials. CCA is the only school that has its own Materials Library with a paid staff (me) to help students/staff/faculty/alumni find stuff for thier projects.

I was sorting through some old files and I found this paragraph I had written as a joke artist's statement. It reminded me of my art school years. It's complete gibberish, so don't even try to make sense of it:

"I'm not only into contexturalizing juxtopositions while self-consciously averting the male gaze in an ever-widening gyre of interactive media, but my critical nature explores a nether-region of traumatic industrialized situations in the form of textural and visceral vignetttes. Though the ephemeral nature of my counter-evolutionary agenda is traditionally at odds with the organic and fleeting post-cultural and decidedly apocalyptic personnas of the collective unctuous, I am willing to parlay my redoubtable reputation on the grounds that everything I do is ameliorated simply because it was spawned by me, the artist."
